LET THE LINES RIP

THE SEA OF CORTEZ IS KNOWN FOR SOME OF THE BEST SPORTFISHING IN THE WORLD.

HISTORY OF VICTORIA FLEET FISHING

Victoria Fleet Fishing Chartering is a partnership between Victor Garciglia Sandez Sr. and Victor Garciglia Sandez Jr. and their two longtime friends from the U.S. who have fished with the captains for over 20 years. Steve Wiberg and Don Barry (owners and regular guests of Casa Marlin Azul) have come to the East Cape for more than two decades, often accompanied by friends and family.

Being in partnership with Captain Victor Sr. and Captain Victor Jr. on the the Victoria Fleet Fishing Chartering fulfills a longtime dream of these lifelong friends and reflects their love of the Sea of Cortez as well as their interest in the world-class fishing there!

Over the years, Steve and Don and their families have caught fish ranging from 300 lb Blue Marlin, 280 lb Striped Marlin, countless Sailfish, 110 lb Yellowfin Tuna, massive Dorado (58 lb), to big bottom fish (Pargo, which are Red Snapper), Amberjack, Cabrilla (Baja Grouper), and a tackle-sizzling 85 lb. Roosterfish (Pez Gallo).

CHARTERING DETAILS

A day is approximately 6:30 am to 2:00 pm. Longer if action is hot or if you hook a big one right toward the end of the day or if the captain takes you way out. If you hook a fish of a lifetime, the extra time spent reeling it in is on us! We’ve heard stories of fish fighting for 17 and 29 hours! If the fish is big enough, we’ll stay out all night!

MARINA

Located right down the road from Casa Marlin Azul, Costa Palmas Marina is where we normally meet Victor or Victor Jr. with the Victoria or Ma Victoria super pangas when going out fishing.

Eureka Way, La Ribera, Baja California Sur, Mexico 23580

Directions from Casa Marlin Azul:

To get to it, you drive in, and through, La Ribera.  From Mex 1, just keep going straight until you cannot anymore.  Go through the city of La Ribera, and down the hill until you cannot go any further.  When you get to the bottom of the hill, turn left and you’ll see that the paved road in the city of La Ribera ends, and it becomes dirt.  Just a short distance further, you’ll see Marina Costa Palmas on your right.  When coming from our house, Casa Marlin Azul, the Marina will be on your left.

Special Instructions:

When entering Costa Palmas Marina, tell the guard that you are going fishing on the Victoria Fleet Fishing Charters with Victor or Victor Jr., and the guard will let you in.
